The Harz is well known for hiking. Steep mountainsides unendless forests en magnificant views make the Harz a paradise for hikers. A wide spread maze of routes wait for you to be discoverd. For starting as well as traines hikers the Harz has much to offer. The most beautiful part of the Harz is the Bodevalley. From Treseburg you follow the river until Thale. This 11 kilometer walk leads you through the Grand Canyon of Germany. Clifs rise up from the valley, more then 200 meters high. The farther you walk into the valley, the faster the water flows. The everchanching landscape make it a must for all hikers. For well trained hikers we have some long distance routes to hike. A well known hike is the Hexenstieg (witchpath), wich starts in Osterode in the Westharz until Thale in the Eastharz. It is a 100 kilometer walk and at the end you will be rewarded.
